Third Time at AgriExpo: Vanilla Paradise Returns in 2025
Celebrating Local Agriculture
We were pleased to take part in the AgriExpo on Nevis for the third consecutive year. Held on 27–28 March 2025 at Elquemedo Willet Park, this well-loved agricultural event celebrates the richness of Nevis’s farming traditions and local produce.
Rooted in Sustainability
Vanilla Paradise Nevis was proud to represent the island’s first and only vanilla farm. Our stand offered a glimpse into the way we grow vanilla—thoughtfully, patiently, and always with nature in mind. Visitors could see living vanilla vines, grown in recycled coconut husks and dried mango leaves, materials chosen to reflect our dedication to working with what’s local and natural.
It was an honour to stand alongside fellow farmers and agricultural organisations who, like us, value the importance of growing food responsibly and protecting our environment for future generations.
Visitor Favourites
Our stand welcomed a steady stream of visitors throughout the event. People of all ages came to learn about our vanilla and enjoy a variety of vanilla products: from extract, beans, biscuits and vanilla teas.
A particularly joyful moment was meeting groups of schoolchildren. Their curiosity and eagerness to understand how vanilla grows — and why sustainability matters — were truly uplifting.

Steady Growth
Since last year’s expo, we’ve continued to grow. We’re expanding our cultivation area with new shade houses, bringing us to a total of 25,000 square feet. This will allow us to support over 2,500 vanilla orchids, each one tended with care and purpose.
We’ve also begun work on a Vanilla Café at the Hamilton Sugar Mill – a relaxed place to enjoy vanilla treats with the intense blue panorama of the Caribbean Sea and Mount Nevis as a backdrop.
An Open Invitation
As always, we welcomed expo visitors to join us for tours of the farm. These visits offer a closer look at vanilla cultivation and the many stages involved, from vine to bean. We enjoy sharing the history, detail, and quiet dedication that goes into producing this remarkable crop.
With Thanks
We extend our sincere thanks to the Nevis Ministry and Department of Agriculture, and especially to its Director, Mr. Randy Elliott, whose calm and cheerful presence always sets the tone for a well-run event. You can see many more photos of the event here on the Ministry’s Facebook page.
A big thank you also to the Vanilla Paradise team for their presence and enthusiasm on the stand: Joy and John Wedderburn, Jesse Wiley, the Vanilla Whisperer, Fiona Bentley, who helped out on the stand and gave 2 vanilla tours, Aquan Chapman and, last but not least, Nhekelon Nisbett, our video master.
And, of course, thank you to all who visited our stand—whether to sample a treat, ask a question, or simply say hello. Your interest and encouragement mean a great deal.
We look forward to seeing you again next year!
