Our organic and sustainable vanilla farm on the Caribbean Island of Nevis has recently welcomed some enchanting additions: three fluffy little kittens who have embarked on a vanilla adventure with us! Watch what they get up to around the farm!

Meet our Feline Companions

Our first feline friend, Vani, a female aged 5 months, has a unique backstory. This little bundle of joy was rescued from the Nevis government vet. She had been found in a field which had just been plowed. Her tail must have got in the way of the tractor as it was cut off. We worried that she would lose her equilibrium but she seems fine. Then we have Nilla, a male kitten and his sister, 3 months old. They were given to us as presents by Boukje, a dedicated organic farmer from up the hill in Hamilton Estate. All three are on duty with a purr and a promise to guard our vanilla haven.

Paw Patrol

The kittens have made their home in the Vanilla Paradise Nevis’ tool shed. Our adorable feline trio serves a vital purpose beyond their irresistible charm. They are here to ensure that any critters, like mice, don’t develop a taste for nibbling our precious vanilla vines. These vigilant guardians can be seen patrolling the rows of delicate green leaves, their tails swishing as they deter any would-be pests. Their presence is a natural deterrent, preserving the integrity of our sustainable vanilla vines.

A Furry Welcome

Our new fluffy friends have taken on an additional role – that of official greeters. With open paws and a whole lot of charm, they welcome visitors to our farm. They remind us that even in the pursuit of vanilla perfection, a touch of whimsy and a dash of feline curiosity make life sweeter. The kittens love to meet our visitors and play with them! It goes without saying that vanilla is their favourite fragrance!

A Word from Our Canine Vanilla Connoisseur

For those familiar with our resident dog, Toni, you'll be pleased to know that she has accepted her new feline companions. Toni is in charge of chasing the monkeys off the farm and the kittens are responsible for the smaller would-be preditors. Together, as a team, they keep the farm safe.

Update: Meet Vanilla Cupcake!

We're thrilled to announce that our third kitten finally has a name: Vanilla Cupcake! After receiving many suggestions, Gina Empson, founder of Vanilla Paradise Nevis, selected this delightful name, which was suggested by Fiona Twelftree, a follower and friend.

It complements the names of our 2 other kittens, Vani and Nilla, perfectly. Vanilla Cupcake is already responding to her new name and has settled in beautifully with her siblings.

A big thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and shared their creative ideas. Vanilla Cupcake and her furry companions can't wait to greet you at the farm! 🐱🐾
